Code of Professional Conduct

This Code of Professional Conduct applicable to members of Association of Business Communicators of India, sets out, in general terms, the standards and duties which it is reasonable to expect a professional to observe.

  1. Members of the Association must conduct themselves in such a way that their conduct would not be reasonably regarded by their professional colleagues within the fields of public relations and corporate communications as professional misconduct.
  2. Members must keep themselves abreast of developments in the fields of public relations and corporate communications.
  3. Members must attend the committee proceedings when required to do so.
  4. Actively promote and encourage the highest level of ethics in the fields of public relations and corporate communications.
  5. Strive for excellence in all aspects of decision making and management at all levels of ABCI.
  6. Ensure the proper use of association's funds.
  7. Serve all members of ABCI impartially, provide no special privilege to any individual member, and accept no personal compensation from another member or non-member.
  8. Refuse to engage in, or condone, discrimination on the basis of race, gender, age, citizenship, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.
  9. Always communicate internal and external association statements in a truthful and accurate manner.
  10. Members must fulfill to the best of their ability the contractual obligations owed to their employers.
