SURESH SAWANT - Cartoonist

Working independently as a freelancer doing cartoons,
caricatures, humour illustrations for various periodicals,
organizations & dot com companies for last 30 yrs.

Worked with the Times of India and contributed eco-political as well
as social cartoons to The Economic Times, Filmfare, The Independent & Maharashtra Times.

Reader's Digest, Free Press Journal & Assignments Abroad Times.

Doing cartoons regularly for a Third World Development German magazine published from Frankfurt Main and a UN publication from Bonn.

Associated with WittyWorld, the International Cartoon Center from USA as its India Editor. Also India Editor of International Journal of Comic Art- a scholarly volume published twice a year by Dr. John Lent of Temple University, USA.

Represented India in International Cartoon
Conferences held in Hungary (1990), Japan (1993) and USA (2003). 

Have won many prizes in various national and international cartoon competitions. In 2005 I was awarded The First Prize in the prestigious International Cartoon Contest on UN "Millennium Developments Goals".

My works are in the possession of famous cartoon museums and private galleries in Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Hungary, UK and USA. The United nations have selected my cartoon for their special international publication on Children from Underdeveloped Nations (2007).

Arranged Indian cartoonists' conference in 1999 in Bangalore on behalf of the German organization connected with the Third World socio-eco problems.

In 2006, I was the promoter from India, to organize The Exhibition of Indian Cartoonists' works held in Frankfurt Main.
