This Code of Professional Conduct applicable to members of Association of Business Communicators of India, sets out, in general terms, the standards and duties which it is reasonable to expect a professional to observe.
- Members of the Association must conduct themselves in such a way that their conduct would not be reasonably regarded by their professional colleagues within the fields of public relations and corporate communications as professional misconduct.
- Members must keep themselves abreast of developments in the fields of public relations and corporate communications.
- Members must attend the committee proceedings when required to do so.
- Actively promote and encourage the highest level of ethics in the fields of public relations and corporate communications.
- Strive for excellence in all aspects of decision making and management at all levels of ABCI.
- Ensure the proper use of association's funds.
- Serve all members of ABCI impartially, provide no special privilege to any individual member, and accept no personal compensation from another member or non-member.
- Refuse to engage in, or condone, discrimination on the basis of race, gender, age, citizenship, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Always communicate internal and external association statements in a truthful and accurate manner.
- Members must fulfill to the best of their ability the contractual obligations owed to their employers.
